Burkina Faso seeks Indonesian partnerships for resource transformation
Over 35 Burkinabe business people attended the Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 in Jakarta to explore trade and investment opportunities.
Burkina Faso's Honorary Consul in Indonesia, Dr Zongo Fabiola, presented business opportunities at the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 in Jakarta. The country aims to transform local resources, boost industrial capacity, and create jobs, focusing on sectors like agriculture, mining, construction, and energy. Indonesian technology and expertise could support this transformation.
More than 35 Burkinabe business people attended the expo to meet Indonesian counterparts, identify suppliers, and explore partnerships. This engagement follows the September 2026 signing of a framework cooperation agreement and a visa exemption accord for diplomatic and service passport holders.
The TEI 2026 serves as a platform to connect businesses and convert identified opportunities into concrete projects. The goal is to leverage Indonesia's industrial capabilities and Burkina Faso's economic transformation objectives for sustainable partnerships. The next TEI event is scheduled for 2027.
