The Center for Professional Training in Emerging Trades Bangr Nooma (CFP-MEB) has launched a promotional sale of tree saplings, available from 500 FCFA until September 30. Families, schools, associations, and businesses can purchase trees, with guidance provided on planting and care. The CFP-MEB, established in 2023, aims to train individuals in emerging trades while promoting environmental protection.
This initiative follows the third edition of the Tree Fair, where over one million saplings of about a hundred species were produced. The available species include exotic varieties like yellow and red flamboyant, melina, and teak, as well as indigenous ones such as tamarind and neem. Production is spread across Ouagadougou and Koubri sites.
Rachel Kouyaté, head of innovations at CFP-MEB, stated the center's ambition is to make saplings more accessible to the public, thereby encouraging more Burkinabè to plant and maintain trees. This effort supports the presidential initiative for the greening of Burkina Faso, emphasizing that planting is for future generations.
