Cotonou closes city hall access for road work

Access routes to Cotonou's city hall will be closed for three months beginning Monday, October 26, 2026, due to ongoing road construction. The closures affect access points from Boulevard de la Marina and Avenue Jean-Paul II. The announcement comes from the Société des infrastructures routières et de l’aménagement du territoire (SIRAT) in a statement dated October 20.
The road closures are a direct result of the commencement of work on streets 12 007 and 12 048, which are located around the city hall currently under construction. These infrastructure improvements are part of the Asphaltage 1 B project. SIRAT has stated that measures will be put in place to ensure residents can still reach their homes and places of business.
