Air France, Air Côte d’Ivoire Sign Paris-Abidjan Code-Share Deal

The airlines will sell each other's flights under their own codes starting October 25, expanding options for travelers.

Air France and Air Côte d’Ivoire have formalized a code-sharing agreement for the Paris-Abidjan route, effective October 25. This partnership allows each airline to sell flights operated by the other under its own flight number, effectively combining their schedules between Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Félix Houphouët-Boigny airport. The agreement, announced in Ajaccio, aims to broaden travel choices for passengers on this busy route.

Loyalty programs will also align, with mutual recognition between Air France's Flying Blue and Air Côte d’Ivoire's sMiles expected by year-end. This means members of both programs will be able to earn and redeem miles on each other's flights between Paris and Abidjan. Air France, a strategic partner and shareholder since Air Côte d’Ivoire's 2012 inception, sees this as a step to leverage its global network for the Ivorian carrier.

The code-share deal, which does not involve changes to the aircraft used on the route, intensifies competition with Corsair, the only other direct carrier on the Paris-Abidjan axis. Both airlines plan to extend this commercial alliance to other destinations within Air France's network before the end of the first half of 2027, potentially creating single tickets for Ivorian travelers to other cities via Paris.

Why it mattersThe agreement expands travel options and loyalty program benefits for passengers flying between Paris and Abidjan.
