Cameroon Agribio partners Turkish firm for 4,000-hectare farm
The agro-industrial complex in Yoko will combine soybean cultivation with oil processing and poultry production.
Cameroon's Agribio has partnered with Turkey's NuNu Export to build an agro-industrial complex in Yoko, Central Region. The project will cultivate soybeans on 4,000 hectares and include a plant to process 60 tons of soybeans daily. A 1,000-hectare poultry farm with 48 houses for chicken and egg production is also planned.
This integrated complex aims to produce local vegetable oil and animal feed, supporting Cameroon's goal to reduce import reliance. Developers anticipate over 550 permanent jobs once operational. The project connects farming, industrial processing, and poultry within one operation.
A 2.5-megawatt-peak hybrid solar power plant will help supply electricity to the site. The processing plant will yield vegetable oil and soybean meal for animal feed, including for the complex's own poultry farms.
Why it mattersCameroonian farmers will benefit from a new integrated agricultural project that aims to boost local production and create jobs.
