Algeria launches major non-hydrocarbon export drive
The operation on November 7 will see companies like Condor and Faderco ship goods to multiple countries.
Algeria is preparing an unprecedented export operation for non-hydrocarbon products, involving companies from various regions. Coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior, the initiative aims to boost non-oil and gas exports and showcase national industrial and artisanal potential. The operation is scheduled for Saturday, November 7.
Several companies are participating, including Condor, Iris, and Faderco. Condor, an appliance giant, will send 400 containers of household goods and metal structures to Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, and Mauritania. Faderco, a hygiene product leader, plans to export 50 containers of hygiene items and raw materials to the United States, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, and Ivory Coast.
This event follows a similar export drive on April 11 that reached 19 countries. Algeria exported $4 billion in non-hydrocarbon products in the first eight months of 2026 and aims for $5 billion by year-end. Companies from 13 wilayas, including Bordj Bou Arreridj and Algiers, are involved.
Why it mattersAlgerian companies are expanding their reach to international markets, increasing their export volumes and diversifying beyond oil and gas.
