Outstanding students in Keren and Elaberet sub-zones received awards for high scores on national examinations.
Outstanding students in the Keren and Elaberet sub-zones of Eritrea's Anseba Region were recognized on September 1 for achieving high scores in national examinations. Rora Junior and High School in Keren awarded 10 students who scored 90 or above in the eighth-grade national exam and 14 students with GPAs between 3.0 and 4.0 in the school-leaving exam. The school's director noted a significant increase in pass rates over three years, with the eighth-grade exam rising from 40% to 70% and the school-leaving exam from 18.5% to 31.2%.
The improvement in educational quality was attributed to the combined efforts of the school community, the public, and the students, according to the head of educational facilities. In Elaberet sub-zone, Awet Secondary School honored 18 students for their high performance on the 2025/2026 national school-leaving examination. The school's director expressed commitment to enhancing efforts for even better results, noting year-on-year improvements in student outcomes.
