The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, ApexBrasil, is establishing a permanent office in Addis Ababa to strengthen economic ties between Brazil and Ethiopia. This initiative aims to create a dedicated platform for improving trade relations, promoting investment opportunities, facilitating market intelligence exchange, and fostering direct connections between businesses from both nations, according to the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC). The announcement followed a meeting between EIC Commissioner Zeleke Temesgen and ApexBrasil President Laudemir André Müller.
Commissioner Zeleke Temesgen stated that the new office will act as a crucial strategic bridge, translating the existing economic cooperation between Ethiopia and Brazil into tangible trade and investment outcomes. The EIC has expressed its readiness to deepen collaboration with ApexBrasil in key sectors, including agribusiness, agro-processing, industrial manufacturing, green energy, logistics, and technology transfer. The Commissioner emphasized the goal of converting strategic cooperation into impactful projects.
The Ethiopian Investment Commission is committed to providing comprehensive support to Brazilian companies looking to invest in Ethiopia, ensuring a smooth and effective entry into the market. The press briefing announcing the office opening was attended by various stakeholders, including senior government officials, representatives from the EIC, the Brazilian Embassy, ApexBrasil, the private sector, and other diplomatic missions, underscoring the collaborative nature of this economic expansion.
