Witnesses reported that Sow, who worked at Carrefour Canadien, was riding behind a truck that had just unloaded coal sacks. As the truck approached the signaled crossing, the motorbike taxi driver reportedly fell. The truck driver then attempted to reverse, leading to the fatal collision.
The truck driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. The truck's apprentices stated they were looking for their employer. The victim sustained fatal injuries and did not survive the accident.
