More than 100 households received food hampers and free medical services from Khubetsoana Building World's second annual corporate social responsibility initiative.
Khubetsoana Building World (KBW) provided food hampers and free medical services to over 100 households in communities along the Maseru-Berea border. The initiative, now in its second year, involved a Chinese medical team from Maseru District Hospital offering basic healthcare checks. Beneficiaries were identified in collaboration with local chiefs and headmen from areas including Naleli, Ha Mabote, Sekamaneng, Khubetsoana, and Koalabata.
KBW Assistant General Manager Motloli Mothepu stated the initiative is an expression of appreciation for community support over the years, emphasizing the company's value for local livelihoods and well-being. The food hampers contained essential supplies such as 25kg bags of maize meal, 12.5kg bags of bread flour, and cooking oil. Patients needing further treatment were referred to medical facilities.
Sekamaneng headman Tsooang Molata, representing Area Chief Bereng Majara, conveyed gratitude and urged those not selected not to lose hope. He explained that the selection process prioritized the most vulnerable households, excluding individuals receiving old-age pensions to ensure aid reached those most in need. KBW plans to continue the initiative in the coming years.
