Namibia fuel prices jump N$2 to N$3 per litre
Petrol 95 rises by N$2, diesel by N$3 as international market pressures drive up costs.
Namibians will pay more for fuel starting in November after Minister of Mines and Energy Modestus Amutse announced price hikes. Petrol 95 will increase by N$2 per litre. Diesel 50ppm and Diesel 10ppm will each rise by N$3 per litre.
The minister attributed the surge to rising international market pressures. This latest increase comes as a stagnant economy means salaries are unlikely to rise, impacting basic living costs for citizens.
The fuel pump prices in Walvis Bay are affected by this change. The Ministry of Mines and Energy did not immediately state when the new prices would take effect.
Why it mattersNamibians face higher costs for transportation and goods due to increased fuel prices.
