Eswatini men netball team heads to South Africa for tournament

A 15-player squad will enter a full-time training camp on November 2 for the Males Super Power Week tournament in Johannesburg.

Eswatini's men's netball team will begin intensive preparations for the Males Super Power Week tournament in Johannesburg, South Africa. Netball Eswatini (NESWA) confirmed a full-time training camp starting November 2, ahead of the November 11-15 event at the Wembley Indoor Arena. Head Coach Jabulani Vilane has selected a 15-player squad aiming to build on the team's recent international successes.

The team seeks to improve on their silver medal finish at the Africa Netball Cup in Nairobi, where they lost 49-45 to South Africa in the final. This tournament features 11 teams, including regional rivals and South African national and departmental sides. Coach Vilane is supported by assistants Vimbumkhosi Ndlangamandla and Wandile Sithebe, with Dr Bongani Magagula as medical practitioner and Nhlanhla Ngcamphalala as team manager.

Eswatini's squad includes players like Brandon Dlamini, Thabo Maphosa, and Aidan Van Reenen. The team aims to challenge regional rivals, drawing on experience from previous encounters, including a group-stage loss to South Africa in Nairobi and a friendly defeat earlier in the month.
