Chad officials review local investment priorities

Moundou hosts annual meeting to improve public investment planning and territorial development.

Officials in Moundou, Chad, met from November 4 to 6, 2026, to review the Annual Investment Programme (PAI). The meeting, organised by the ministries of Finance and Territorial Administration, aimed to strengthen territorial planning and boost public investment efficiency for local populations.

The review focused on improving public investment planning and programming, with attention to local development needs. Yahya Mahamadou Bellout, Director of Cabinet for the Logone Occidental Governorate, stated that PAI's effectiveness depends on accurate needs identification, resource availability, realistic objectives, and rigorous project monitoring.

The meeting also addressed the challenge of translating plans into concrete actions. Solkam Bachir Soucat, head of the mission, highlighted that PAI instruments help align local priorities with the national development plan and Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing accountability of autonomous collectivités and improving citizen input in public decisions.
