Angola president promises end to hunger by 2027
João Lourenço claims MPLA will reveal a formula for Angolans to live without eating.
Angolan President João Lourenço, leading the MPLA party, has pledged that by 2027, the party will unveil a method enabling Angolans to live without consuming food. This promise follows the case of Indian yoga master Prahlad Jani, who reportedly survived for 14 days without food or water under observation by 30 doctors from India's Ministry of Defence.
The MPLA's claim is based on Jani's documented ability to abstain from eating and drinking, a feat previously explored in a 2006 Discovery Channel documentary. Jani himself stated after his observation, "I am strong and healthy because that is how God wants me to be." The packet notes that previous attempts by Angolans to follow such methods have resulted in death.
The concept of Angolans living without food was also a thesis of former leader José Eduardo dos Santos, who allegedly used misery and unemployment to force people down this path. Despite the claims, results in Angola have not been encouraging, with individuals attempting to live without sustenance reportedly dying before achieving the goal.
