The National Social Security Fund aims to boost compliance and understanding of social security obligations among employers and workers.
The National Social Security Fund (CNSS), through its Fada N'Gourma regional directorate, held a sensitization session in Tenkodogo on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The meeting targeted socio-professional actors to enhance their knowledge of social security rights and obligations. The CNSS seeks to improve the collection of social contributions and foster better collaboration with its partners by ensuring employers and workers are well-informed about social security regulations.
Participants raised concerns regarding their interactions with the CNSS, specifically concerning worker rights and employer responsibilities. The regional director, Salifou Lougué, noted the engagement indicated strong interest in the topics. He emphasized the CNSS's commitment to continuous outreach, stating that the institution is open and actively working to equip all stakeholders with knowledge of their rights and duties.
The session also highlighted voluntary insurance for self-employed workers, a social coverage option with a currently low uptake. Lougué encouraged independent workers not yet affiliated to contact CNSS offices to enroll, noting that fifteen years of contributions can lead to a pension, provided eligibility criteria are met.
Why it mattersEmployers and self-employed individuals in the Nakambé region are affected by the CNSS's efforts to clarify their rights and obligations regarding social security contributions and benefits.
