Manga schools receive garden fencing materials

10 schools in Manga received fencing materials to secure their school gardens and support canteen food supplies.

The special delegation of Manga commune provided fencing materials to 10 schools on October 28, 2026. This donation aims to help the schools establish their gardens and improve food self-sufficiency for school canteens. The materials include wire mesh, posts, and fasteners, with the goal of enabling local production for school meals.

Bérenger Bihoun, president of the special delegation, stated that this is the first step, with actual garden development, production, and harvesting to follow. He urged school officials to use the materials effectively to supply canteens with local produce. This initiative arose from a request made by the director of Communal School B in 2025, who highlighted difficulties in securing their school garden against animal damage.

Geneviève Kambiré, director of Communal School B, expressed her satisfaction, noting that the materials address a pressing need and will help organize gardens for better production benefiting students and staff. The delegation plans to follow up on the effective development and use of these school gardens.
