Dadjè FC removed from Benin's Ligue 2
The Benin Professional Football League cited invalid federal licenses and unqualified players for the decision.
Dadjè FC will no longer be scheduled in the Celtiis Ligue 2 from the fifth matchday of the 2026-2027 season. The Benin Professional Football League's Management Council issued this notification on October 28, 2026, after reviewing the club's administrative status.
The league cited the absence of valid federal licenses and the use of unqualified players in early matches. The council determined that Dadjè FC does not currently meet the necessary regulatory conditions to continue in the championship.
This administrative measure does not preclude further sporting or disciplinary actions from competent bodies. These licensing issues had previously prevented the club from playing its first match of the season, resulting in a 3-0 loss on the green carpet against Abeilles FC.
Why it mattersDadjè FC, a club that won the Benin championship in June 2025, has been removed from the second division league due to administrative and player eligibility issues.
