CAR advisor accuses France, Chad of plot

Jules Njawé claims 103 armed vehicles and French fighter jets are preparing an attack on the Central African Republic.

Jules Njawé, an advisor to Central African Republic President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, accused Chad and France on October 19, 2026, of plotting an attack against the country. Njawé claimed 103 heavily armed pick-up trucks, Sudanese fighters, and two French fighter jets were involved in the alleged offensive, seeking to divert attention from recent clashes.

These accusations follow an October 10 military operation in the Vakaga region where Russian Wagner group mercenaries reportedly attacked Front Populaire pour la Renaissance de la Centrafrique positions in Nabagaye-Tissi. During this operation, 16 Chadian soldiers were wounded on their own territory, according to reports.

The initial report from Corbeau News Centrafrique stated 14 wounded soldiers, later updated to 16 by October 13. Njawé made his claims during an October 19 broadcast hosted by Alain Foka.

Why it mattersCentral African Republic citizens are directly affected by accusations of a planned military offensive and the ongoing conflict.
