Algeria launches major non-hydrocarbon export drive

Companies like Condor and Faderco will ship hundreds of containers of goods to multiple countries on November 7.

Algeria is preparing an unprecedented operation to export non-hydrocarbon products, involving companies from various regions. The Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities is coordinating this initiative to boost non-oil and gas exports and showcase the country's industrial and artisanal potential. This event is scheduled for Saturday, November 7.

Major companies are participating, including Condor and Faderco. Condor's CEO, Mohamed Daas, announced the export of 400 containers of home appliances and metal structures to Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, and Mauritania. Faderco's CEO, Amor Habes, stated that his company will export 50 containers of hygiene products and raw materials to the United States, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, and Ivory Coast.

This operation follows a similar export drive on April 11, which sent non-hydrocarbon products to 19 countries. Companies from 13 wilayas participated in that campaign. Algeria aims to reach $5 billion in non-hydrocarbon exports for 2026, having already exported $4 billion in the first eight months of 2026, according to Zohir Moussaoui of the Ministry of Foreign Trade on October 18.

Why it mattersAlgerian companies are expanding their international reach by exporting a variety of goods, aiming to increase national revenue beyond oil and gas.
