Sonatrach raises LPG prices for November

Algeria's national oil company increased propane by $155 to $825 per ton and butane by $300 to $1050 per ton.

Algeria's national oil company Sonatrach raised its official selling prices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for November. The company increased the price of propane by $155 per ton, reaching $825. Butane prices rose by $300 per ton, to $1050.

These increases occurred amid seasonal demand and limited global supplies. Sonatrach's prices serve as a benchmark for markets on the Mediterranean and Black Seas, including Turkey. Propane and butane are key components of LPG, used as fuel for vehicles and heating, and as a petrochemical feedstock.

Saudi Aramco also raised its LPG prices for November, increasing propane by $40 to $720 per ton and butane by $50 to $780 per ton. Saudi Aramco's official selling prices are a reference for LPG supply contracts from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific region.

Why it mattersAlgerian consumers and industries using LPG for fuel or petrochemicals will face higher costs.
