Sunu Assurances Gabon promotes home insurance
The company presented home multi-risk and borrower death insurance products at the housing event.
Sunu Assurances Gabon showcased two insurance products, Multirisque habitation and Assurance décès emprunteur, at the housing open days event held from October 29-31, 2026. The company aims to make insurance a reflex for homeowners, protecting their investments against risks like fires, water damage, and material damages. The Multirisque habitation policy covers the dwelling, movable goods, and civil liability based on subscribed guarantees.
Lionel Vivien Mackaya, commercial director for Sunu Assurances IARD, stated that insurers should be involved in real estate projects from the outset to protect assets acquired through sacrifice. The Assurance décès emprunteur is designed for those with mortgage loans, covering the remaining debt in case of the borrower's death to prevent heirs from inheriting the financial burden. Martin Ondo Ovono, head of commercial department at Sunu Assurances Vie Gabon, explained this allows beneficiaries to keep the acquired home.
Sunu Assurances Gabon's participation aimed to raise public awareness about insurance mechanisms and their role in preserving family assets. The company emphasized that property ownership requires not only securing a loan but also implementing precautionary measures to safeguard the property and its financing.
Why it mattersHomeowners in Gabon are offered insurance products to protect their property and prevent families from inheriting debts in case of death.
