ADM opens new Nairobi office for East Africa trade

The global nutrition company aims to connect regional demand with its international agricultural supply chain network.

ADM has opened a new destination marketing office in Nairobi, Kenya, to connect East African customers with its global agricultural supply chain. The office will provide access to ADM’s food ingredients, feedstuffs, and animal nutrition products for customers across the region. Nairobi was chosen as a base due to Kenya's role as a regional trade hub.

The new operation will focus on destination marketing, including market insights, local merchandising, and storage and distribution. Patrick Heijbroek, vice president for Global Trade, stated that East Africa is a high-growth market with increasing demand for quality food and feed ingredients. ADM’s destination marketing activities reached approximately 31 million metric tonnes in 2025.

This Nairobi office builds on ADM’s decade-long presence in Kenya and expands its African footprint. It complements existing investments in human nutrition innovation laboratories in Nairobi and a distribution hub in Nigeria. Erdal Kurban, president for Africa & Middle East, said the office will bring ADM closer to customers to better understand local market dynamics.
