National Theatre to host Funworld 2026

The fifth edition of Funworld will use performing arts to promote mental health awareness and breast cancer education.

The National Theatre of Ghana will host Funworld 2026, an event combining education, entertainment, and competition to raise awareness of mental well-being and breast cancer among schoolchildren and the community. This October edition is part of the National Theatre’s use of the arts for social awareness and children’s development. For over three decades, Funworld has served as an edutainment platform for young people to develop and showcase their creative abilities.

This year's event will feature traditional and contemporary dances, drama, poetry, and music performances celebrating Ghanaian culture. A debate competition between Springfield School and Gloryhill International will highlight pupils' public speaking and critical-thinking skills. Promasidor Ghana, through its Twisco product, is partnering with the National Theatre to support the programme.

The programme will emphasize mental health, emotional well-being, and supportive environments for children. Educational messages and artistic presentations will also encourage appreciation for breast cancer awareness and health consciousness. Separately, Kiddafest 2026, also sponsored by Promasidor Ghana, is scheduled for December 17 and 18.

Why it mattersChildren and the wider community will benefit from increased awareness of mental health and breast cancer through artistic presentations.
