Cronos Airlines cancels Malabo flights
Passengers stranded at Malabo airport face uncertainty as technical issues ground flights to Bata.
Cronos Airlines cancelled flights from Malabo to Bata on Thursday, leaving passengers stranded at the airport. Passengers were informed on Tuesday to stop checking in and go to company offices, later receiving confirmation of cancellations. Some passengers who bought tickets on Tuesday were still sold tickets despite ongoing cancellations.
A passenger showed a message received on Thursday, October 29, stating flight 901 to Bata was rescheduled due to a technical problem, with no new departure time given. Passengers who bought tickets directly from Cronos agencies were told they would receive a message, while those who used third-party agencies had their phone numbers taken for updates.
Passengers expressed concern about when they would be able to travel and some are considering seeking refunds to travel by boat. The suspension of Ceiba Intercontinental flights, due to aircraft reviews, further limits air transport options between Malabo and Bata. Cronos Airlines passengers were still awaiting confirmed travel dates and clear information on flight resumption.
