Pathologists found more than 20 injuries on Dorita Lasinder Macharia, 86, who died on the night of October 30, 2026, at her Loresho home. Three doctors conducted a post-mortem examination at Lee Funeral Home, revealing multiple stab wounds to the neck that caused severe bleeding. The examination also noted a fracture on her left upper arm and other sharp-force injuries across her body. Investigators are working to determine the exact weapon used and are examining collected samples.
The post-mortem findings were revealed on Tuesday, November 2, as five people, including the deceased's daughter Regina Wambui Gitao, alias Regina Re, were arrested. Detectives from Gigiri sought 15 days to detain the suspects for further investigation, but the court granted them 10 days. Police Constable David Njoroge stated that preliminary findings suggest a disagreement between Dorita and her granddaughter, Thandie Malaika Wanjiku Gitao, over Thandie's boyfriend, Alton Jimmy Macharia, preceded the incident.
The investigator told the court that Dorita had asked Thandie to leave the house after finding her in a compromising situation with Alton. Dorita then called her son, Jimmy, to assist in evicting her granddaughter. Although Thandie reportedly left, she later returned and stayed with Dorita for about an hour before the elderly woman was found dead. Investigators are analyzing CCTV footage from the estate to piece together the events.
