Morocco security chief orders promotion for injured officer

An officer in Agadir was struck by a vehicle and will receive an exceptional promotion and full medical support.

Morocco's national security chief Abdellatif Hammouchi ordered an exceptional promotion and full medical support for a police officer seriously injured in Agadir. The officer was struck by a vehicle after three occupants refused to comply with police instructions. The three suspects were arrested and are under judicial investigation.

A senior security delegation visited the injured officer at Mohammed VI University Hospital in Agadir. Hammouchi, director-general of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, instructed departments to cover all medical treatment and provide additional support. Medical staff reported the officer's condition was stable and he was responding positively to treatment.

The officer was granted an exceptional promotion to the rank of police officer. The delegation included Agadir’s police prefect and representatives from the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Personnel.
