Four Malian pro-democracy activists, Youssouf Daba Diawara, Aboubacar Soumaré, Moussa « Abba » Djiré, and Ibrahima Tamega, have reappeared after nearly six months of detention by state security. They were presented to the specialized judicial pole against cybercrime on Tuesday, October 20, and have now been imprisoned at the Bamako correctional facility.

The activists were held in unknown locations and outside any judicial framework since May. No news has emerged regarding lawyer and former minister Mountaga Tall, who was reportedly the first to be abducted by state security in May.

The detention and subsequent presentation to judicial authorities of these activists highlight ongoing concerns about civil liberties in Mali. The fate of Mountaga Tall remains unknown, with no updates provided on his whereabouts or legal status.
