Mali police arrest three suspected armed robbers in Bamako
Police seized two motorcycles, ammunition, and mobile phones during the operation in the Hippodrome district.
Police in Bamako arrested three men aged 24, 26, and 38 between October 27 and 28, 2026, in the Hippodrome neighborhood. The arrests followed an anonymous tip about armed robberies targeting motorcycle users in Commune II of the Bamako District. Officers from the research brigade conducted the operation under the direction of Adjudant-chef Rassoi Habib DAKOUO.
A search of the suspects' apartment yielded two motorcycles, a 9mm cartridge, two radios, and five mobile phones. Investigators believe the arrested individuals are part of a network that operates at night. The suspects have been transferred to judicial authorities, and investigations are ongoing.
The operation, overseen by Police Commissioner Acherif AG AKLY, demonstrates the National Police's commitment to combating crime. Director General Youssouf KONÉ and the Minister of Security and Civil Protection support these efforts. The public is encouraged to report information to the police hotline at 101.
