CEB prepares for Divali power demand surge
The Central Electricity Board is deploying special teams and urging consumer caution to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the festival.
The Central Electricity Board (CEB) is activating special measures to manage an anticipated increase in electricity demand during Divali. The CEB announced on October 30 that its technical teams will be on standby to respond swiftly to any power outages, ensuring a continuous supply for the festival.
The CEB is advising consumers to use electrical installations prudently, warning against overloading circuits and advising against self-manipulation of wiring. They also recommend checking festive lights for damage and limiting the simultaneous use of high-consumption appliances like electric showers, kettles, and air conditioners when decorative lighting is active.
Customers experiencing power failures or supply issues are instructed to contact the CEB service at 130. The board's preparedness aims to prevent disruptions during the period of heightened electricity usage associated with Divali celebrations.
