Rwanda asks churches to help families
Prime Minister Nsengiyumva urged religious leaders to strengthen marriage preparation and support household finances.
Prime Minister Justin Nsengiyumva has asked churches in Rwanda to help address family breakdown, shrinking household finances, and rising social problems. Speaking on Sunday, October 25, Nsengiyumva stated that unstable families contribute to crime and conflict.
Nsengiyumva, representing President Paul Kagame, called on religious institutions to use their influence to improve people's lives and strengthen families. He urged the Anglican Church and others to enhance marriage preparation programs and work with the government to build resilient families.
The government seeks stronger partnerships with religious institutions to promote responsible behavior and ensure families are grounded in values that support their well-being and national progress. The objective is to build strong families whose members uphold positive values for the country's development.
