President Herminie questions the Constitutional Appointments Authority's proposal of a single candidate for Chief Justice.

President Dr. Patrick Herminie has taken the Constitutional Appointments Authority (CAA) to the Constitutional Court. He is challenging the CAA's decision to propose only one candidate for the role of Chief Justice.

The President's petition concerns the interpretation of Article 124 (1) of the constitution. This article states the President appoints a Chief Justice based on a list of candidates proposed by the CAA when the position is vacant.
