RSF drones hit 12 power stations across Sudan

Rapid Support Forces attacks since Monday have damaged transformers and fuel installations, causing widespread blackouts.

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) drone attacks have crippled Sudan’s electricity network since Monday, knocking out power stations in at least six states. The strikes have damaged transformers, transmission equipment, and fuel installations from eastern Sudan to the capital, Khartoum. The Sudan Electricity Holding Company reported that the RSF targeted vital substations including Singa, Al-Hawata, Al-Faw, Mashkur, and Al-Geneid, causing extensive destruction and a complete blackout across the southeastern grid.

Witnesses reported explosions at the Abu Hamad facility, and the attacks have affected installations hundreds of kilometers from RSF ground positions. The electricity company stated these "treacherous terrorist attacks" pose a direct threat to the national grid's stability. The bombardment includes strikes on the Al Markhiyat substation northwest of Omdurman, cutting power to large parts of Khartoum.

Attacks have also hit Al Managil, Haya, and Rabak, following an earlier disruption at Tendelti electricity station. In Al Faw and Al Hawata, strikes affected facilities supplying towns and agricultural communities, impacting water pumping, irrigation, and commercial activities.
