Chad launches 18-month project for peace and tolerance

The CELIAF, with EU and ACRA support, aims to foster unity among women and youth in N'Djamena and Logone Occidental.

The Cellule de Liaison et d’Information des Associations Féminines (CELIAF) launched an 18-month project on October 27, 2026, in N’Djamena to promote peace and coexistence. The initiative, supported by the European Union and the NGO ACRA, targets women and youth in N’Djamena and the Logone Occidental region.

CELIAF president Denodji Robertine stated that peace requires daily construction through dialogue and rejecting prejudice, aiming to break down invisible barriers. Mariam Abdraman, representing the Delegate General of the Government of N’Djamena, emphasized that diversity should be a source of strength, not division, and highlighted the role of women and youth in conflict prevention.

The project includes creating inclusive dialogue spaces, training workshops, awareness campaigns, and cultural and sports events. This initiative aligns with President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno's social cohesion policy and the national development plan 'Chad Connexion 2030'.

Why it mattersThe project aims to build peace and tolerance among communities in Chad, directly affecting women and youth.
