UNET demands student bus and canteen services in Chad

The University of N'Djamena's student union has given authorities 72 hours to restore services.

The student union at the University of N'Djamena, UNET, has demanded the immediate restoration of university canteens and the effective deployment of student buses. UNET's executive secretary, Ortoroum Mathurin, stated on November 3 that students have been attending classes for a month without access to the canteens, despite prior commitments from the Minister of Higher Education.

Mathurin also highlighted that while sufficient buses exist, they are rarely used, causing significant disruption for students. The union expressed frustration over the lack of response from relevant services to a letter sent on September 25, 2026, which remains unanswered.

UNET has set a 72-hour deadline for the authorities to make the buses operational and reopen the university canteens.
