IB Bank staff donate blood in Ouagadougou

The bank's staff mutual organised a blood drive to support health facilities facing high demand.

The staff mutual of IB Bank Burkina organised a blood donation drive on Friday at the bank's headquarters in Ouagadougou. The operation, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS), aimed to increase the supply of blood products for health facilities. This initiative mobilises bank workers for a gesture of solidarity to help those needing transfusions.

Moïse Kafando, a member of the mutual's bureau, stated that the organisation wants to contribute to public health and the population's well-being. He explained that blood donation was chosen to launch the mutual's activities due to the importance of health. Marguétou Derra/Mané, head of collection at the Ouagadougou blood transfusion centre, praised the initiative, noting high demand from maternity, pediatric, and security forces units.

Derra/Mané highlighted that blood is a precious resource not available through ordinary drug sales and urged the public to engage in voluntary donation. She stressed that meeting transfusion needs is a collective responsibility. The IB Bank staff mutual aims to promote mutual aid and civic responsibility, encouraging other companies to support public health actions.
