Lomé port seeks stronger ties with Burkina Faso traders

Port officials met Ouagadougou business leaders on October 23, 2026, to discuss trade facilitation.

Officials from the Port of Lomé and the Alliance for the Promotion of the Port of Lomé (A2PL) met with Burkinabè economic operators in Ouagadougou on Friday, October 23, 2026. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration and ease the transit of goods to Burkina Faso. This event was part of a promotional mission from October 18 to 24, 2026, focused on improving trade with the Alliance of Sahel States.

Efforts to streamline administrative procedures through digitalization, such as the One-Stop Shop for International Trade Formalities (GUFORD), were also discussed. A Task Force AES 2026 was established to address challenges faced by economic operators.
