The Libreville mayor's office removed a century-old Iroko tree in Okala-Auberge on November 3. The tree was cut down to clear space for future road developments in the capital's first district.

Teams from the municipality's environment department led the operation, which was overseen by Essono Bienvenu, director of Prevention and Risks. The tree's large size and location near homes required careful execution, with no incidents reported during the removal.

This action clears the necessary space for widening roads in the area. The municipality thanked Okala-Auberge residents for their cooperation and stated it will maintain security vigilance for future land clearing operations.
