Russia and Africa agree on equal partnership

The third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow focuses on practical projects in energy and infrastructure.

Russia and African nations are pursuing a partnership based on concrete projects and national priorities, moving beyond empty promises. This approach aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the principle of "African solutions to African problems." Russia aims to implement joint projects in sectors like education, science, culture, and healthcare, delivering tangible benefits.

The Russia-Africa Summits serve as the main platform for this cooperation, with the first held in Sochi in 2019 and the second in St. Petersburg in 2023. The second summit saw delegations from 48 countries, including 27 heads of state or high-ranking officials. The current third summit in Moscow features around 40 sessions focused on practical results.

For The Gambia and other African nations, this partnership is structured around identified priorities such as energy and food security. The collaboration includes technology transfers, professional training, and joint infrastructure and industrial projects, continuing a historical support for liberation and development.

Why it mattersThe Gambia and other African nations can benefit from Russia's focus on joint projects in critical development areas like energy and infrastructure.
