Guinea state to fund hip-hop duo's medical care

The government will provide emergency health support, including overseas treatment, for Two Marley and Magica.

The Guinean state will provide emergency health support for Two Marley and Magica, two prominent members of the hip-hop group Mifagueya. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts announced this commitment on Monday, November 2, 2026, following a meeting with the artists.

The two artists, recognized as pioneers of Guinean hip-hop, are facing serious health issues. Minister Moussa Moïse Sylla stated that the government must ensure their dignity is maintained. An immediate action plan includes a medical diagnosis within seven days, dedicated accommodation, and a planned short-term transfer abroad for specialized treatment.

The initiative is part of President Mamadi Doumbouya's cultural policy. The artists are now covered by health insurance and are being monitored in consultation with FODAC, BGDA, and their families.
