Namibia Securities Exchange sets listing rules
Companies must use approved sponsors and submit documentation for exchange approval before public announcements.
Firms aiming to list on the Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) must first engage an approved Namibian sponsor. This sponsor will guide the company through the formal application process, including identifying and preparing the necessary documentation for submission. The NSX reviews these documents to ensure they are complete and satisfactory before an application can proceed.
Following the review, the application is presented to the listing committee for consideration. If the committee approves, the application moves to the NSX board for final approval for a primary listing. Companies are restricted from making public announcements about their listing intentions until final approval is granted by the executive committee.
A company can announce it has submitted an application once the NSX has received a complete submission, but this does not guarantee approval. The time required for a listing varies based on the application's complexity and the process of meeting all requirements and obtaining necessary approvals.
Why it mattersCompanies seeking to list on the Namibia Securities Exchange must follow a specific process involving sponsors and approvals.
