Aguda: Tinubu reforms need time to yield results

Businessman Oluwole Aguda stated that Nigerians must see a credible path to relief from economic adjustments.

Businessman Oluwole Aguda stated that President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and naira devaluation, have not yet translated into improved living conditions for most Nigerians. Aguda, a former governorship aspirant, noted that the cost of food, transportation, housing, and healthcare continues to pressure households.

Aguda explained that while the intention behind the reforms is clear, execution has been challenging, and economic recovery should be measured by affordability of necessities, job creation, and living standards. He added that the administration's case for a second term must demonstrate these tangible improvements, not just the courage to implement reforms.

He also pointed to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a project promising reduced travel time and costs. Aguda stressed that policy continuity is crucial for national growth, warning that policy reversals hinder development and that calls to restore fuel subsidy must consider public finance implications.
