Togo opposition group plans rally in Tsévié

The National Coordination for Change will gather on November 8 to protest the 2024 constitutional reform.

The National Coordination for Change (CNCC) will hold a rally on Sunday, November 8, at the Atikoumé square in Tsévié. The group, comprising opposition parties ADDI, ANC, FDR, and PSR, along with civil society organizations, received official permission from the local mairie for the event.

The mairie confirmed in a letter dated October 22 that necessary arrangements are in place to provide the requested venue on the specified date. This follows an earlier administrative disagreement that caused the rally, initially scheduled for October 25, to be postponed.

The CNCC's central message is 'No to permanent coups, yes to the restoration of C92,' directly challenging the constitutional reform enacted in 2024.

Why it mattersTogolese citizens, specifically members of opposition parties and civil society, are directly affected by the CNCC's planned protest against constitutional changes.
