The AU chairperson calls for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire after over 250 reported deaths.

The African Union has condemned drone attacks that killed scores of civilians across Sudan and the disputed Abyei area. Reports indicate over 250 people have died in strikes over several days. The AU Commission chairperson, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.

Drone attacks on Monday in Abyei reportedly killed dozens of civilians, including women and children, near Amiet and Todach markets.
