Sao Tome court to launch digital accounting system in 2027
The Tribunal de Contas will move to digital submissions for public entities and companies by April 30, 2027.
The Tribunal de Contas in Sao Tome and Principe will introduce an electronic system in 2027 for public entities and companies to submit their accounts digitally. This move away from paper submissions was announced by the court's president, Ricardino Costa Alegre.
Costa Alegre informed the press that a new instruction will be issued for entities to submit their accounts in a digital format to the Tribunal de Contas. He stated the tool is in its final stages and expects it to be operational by April 30, 2027, after the March 31 deadline for submissions.
The Sao Tomean Tribunal de Contas, established in June 2003, functions as the supreme and independent body for controlling public revenue and expenditure, judging state accounts and conducting preventive oversight of public contracts.
