DHL, EIPA train Eswatini MSMEs for export

A new partnership aims to equip local businesses with skills for international markets and customs.

DHL and the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) partnered last week to train micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in export skills. The collaboration combines EIPA’s Export Readiness Programme with DHL’s GoTrade Initiative to help businesses identify global markets, understand customs, and manage cross-border logistics. Training is set to begin next month, with EIPA inviting businesses to register.

EIPA Chief Executive Officer Sibani Mngomezulu stated the partnership bridges the gap for businesses wanting to export but lacking the necessary skills. He explained that while Eswatini produces goods with international potential, many firms struggle with market identification, export procedures, and efficient product movement. The programme will focus on practical capabilities, using DHL’s Trade and Grow Beyond Borders curriculum and the GoTrade Portal.

EIPA will contribute by assessing export preparedness, analysing markets, and identifying product opportunities. The authority will help businesses understand demand, market prospects, and competitive requirements. This combined approach addresses challenges from finding buyers to fulfilling orders, helping firms overcome gaps in market access and practical trade requirements.

Why it mattersEswatini's micro, small, and medium enterprises will gain practical skills to access international markets and increase export sales.
