Harare loan shark charged with MP's vehicle theft
Cleophas Chinonje Chiwaya allegedly stole a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to Mazowe Central MP Maxmore Njanji.
Harare-based loan shark Cleophas Chinonje Chiwaya appeared in court on Friday facing charges of theft of trust property. Chiwaya is accused of stealing a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle owned by Mazowe Central Member of Parliament Maxmore Njanji. Magistrate Sheunesu Matova granted Chiwaya US$300 bail.
The State alleges that in January 2023, an individual identified as [...] entered into an agreement with Chiwaya for the purchase of the vehicle. However, Chiwaya is said to have unlawfully taken possession of the Toyota Land Cruiser without the owner's consent.
