Ghana Gas donates GH¢100,000 to hospital for breast cancer care

The donation will fund biopsies and provide personal protective equipment for healthcare workers.

Ghana Gas has donated GH¢100,000 to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Takoradi to support breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The funds will be split equally, with GH¢50,000 allocated for biopsy procedures for suspected cases and the remaining GH¢50,000 for personal protective equipment and patient treatment support. Judith Adjoba Blay, CEO of Ghana Gas, stated that the company will monitor the utilization of funds to measure the initiative's impact.

Dr. Amoabeng, Head of Surgery at the hospital, expressed gratitude, noting the donation addresses the critical barrier of biopsy costs, enabling more patients to receive diagnosis and subsequently enroll in the National Health Insurance Scheme for treatment.

Why it mattersThe donation directly supports breast cancer patients in Ghana by funding diagnostic tests and treatment, and provides essential protective gear for healthcare workers.
