Mahama visits kente exhibition in Moscow

Ghana's president commended Russia-Ghana Parliamentary Forum for cultural exchange at the Russia-Africa Summit.

President John Dramani Mahama visited a Kente Exhibition in Moscow on Thursday, organised by the Russia-Ghana Parliamentary Forum. The exhibition, part of the Third Russia-Africa Summit, showcases Ghana's traditional textiles and cultural heritage. The Ghana Export Promotion Authority and Ghana’s Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry collaborated on the event.

Mahama praised the Russian Parliamentary Group for their friendship, stating that people-to-people relationships are more enduring than government ties. He highlighted the importance of understanding each other's cultures to consolidate these relationships. The President noted that nearly 11,000 people had visited the exhibition, which included explanations translated into Russian.

The exhibition aims to promote Ghana's cultural heritage through kente, an internationally recognized textile. President Mahama expressed appreciation for bringing the exhibition to Moscow, emphasizing the value of cultural understanding between nations.
