Russia and Africa forge equal partnership
The two continents are building cooperation on concrete projects aligned with African national priorities.
Russia and African nations are strengthening a partnership based on mutual respect and concrete projects, moving beyond empty promises. This approach aligns with the principle of "African solutions to African problems" and focuses on tangible benefits in sectors like energy, food security, education, and local business development. The partnership is structured around priorities identified by the African states themselves.
The Russia–Africa Summits and Economic and Humanitarian Forums serve as the primary mechanism for this cooperation. The first summit in Sochi in 2019 established a dialogue on an equal footing, leading to agreements in security, science, culture, and the economy. The second summit in St. Petersburg in 2023 included delegations from 48 countries, confirming the partnership's focus on concrete needs and projects.
The current Third Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum in Moscow feature approximately 40 sessions. These discussions are developed in collaboration with African partners, aiming for practical results in areas critical to the continent's development, including energy and infrastructure.
