Armed group closes Libya oil pipeline valve

An armed group closed a valve on the main Al-Hamada crude oil pipeline in the Al-Rayayna area today, disrupting supplies to the Zawia refinery.
The National Oil Corporation (NOC) stated that the forced closure of the 18-inch diameter pipeline caused a pressure spike, halting pumping operations by 12:30 AM last night to protect infrastructure.
The NOC warned that the continued closure will result in a loss of approximately 15,000 barrels per day of crude oil and called on the Petroleum Facilities Guard to reopen the valve.
